Deshawna is a Trauma-Informed Social Worker and Yoga Instructor based in Toronto, Ontario. With over a decade of experience, she is committed to diversifying the mental health field. In recent years, she has worked with Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) in community, social justice spaces, school settings and more to assist individuals along their mental health journey. Deshawna supports you in creating innovative treatment plans that can address racial and intergenerational trauma, as well as personal life challenges.

Deshawna helps clients reach their goals by using a combination of clinical techniques that are focused on client strengths and personal goals. She also recognizes that mental health and experiences of trauma manifest themselves within the physical body, so when it fits she will incorporate somatic techniques such as mindfulness, meditation, and breathing techniques into sessions.
